Program session platforms

Zoom Webinars

Lectures will be presented using the Zoom webinar platform. 

• Attendees are view-only participants in the webinar platform 
• You can engage with others using the chat function in Zoom 
• Ask questions and upvote the questions of others by using the Q & A button
• Ask questions during the presentation so they can be addressed at the end
• All lectures will be recorded. You will be able to access them at the end of each day through your virtual event lobby. Recordings will be available for 2 weeks after the event.

Remo

Used for all other networking events:

Remo is a virtual immersive space for events, a visual top-down view, 2-D map with interactive “tables” on multiple floors

• Video, audio, and chat allow you to interact in real-time in the space
• Each user has their own avatar, which they can move from table to table just by clicking on a space
• When you enter a table, you can see, hear, and interact with the people in that space in real-time
• Guests enter a table randomly. From there you can move from table to table
• The space will be moderated by a CIFAR team member and there will be a help desk on each “floor” of the platform

• To check if your device is all ready to go, please visit the Remo Systems Check https://geartest.remo.co/
• We recommend a minimum of 8 Mb/s download speed and 8 Mb/s upload speed to maintain a high quality and stable connection
• Remo works with computers and laptops only (iPads/tablets are not supported)
• Please note that if you use a VPN for remote access to office networks, you will need to disable your VPN connection before joining Remo.
