In 2017, the Government of Canada appointed CIFAR to develop and lead the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy, the world’s first national AI Strategy. AICan is the annual meeting of the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy, hosted by CIFAR.
CIFAR’s leadership of the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy is funded by the Government of Canada, with support from Facebook and the RBC Foundation.
The AICan Symposium brings together academic researchers, students, and industry and thought leaders to feature the latest developments in machine learning research by some of the world’s leading AI researchers, and to profile the National Program of Activities.
Public Program - Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021
The event will include a special announcement of the Canada CIFAR AI Chairs Program, as well as the latest advances in Canadian AI research and responsible AI from world-leading AI researchers and experts.
In addition to public programming, CIFAR will host a Trainee day for students/trainees based in Canada on Jan. 20, 2021, and a closed workshop for Canada CIFAR AI Chairs from Jan. 21-22, 2021.
